Village

Explore and enjoy the CERN70 Community Event Village! Grab a snack on Gluon Boulevard, sip wine on Photon Plaza, and dance on the Higgs Field.

We’ve got you covered, whatever the weather!

Worried about the unpredictable Geneva weather in September? Don’t be! Whether it’s sun, rain, or hail, you’ll stay dry and enjoy a fantastic view of the stage. We’ve planned to install three spacious tents in front of the stage to ensure you have a perfect evening.

Children are an essential part of our community, and to make this event special for our youngest guests, we have designed a fun programme of tailor-made activities. From games to creative activities, there will be something for kids of all ages to enjoy.

You can look froward to magic and juggling shows, Gargot de Joc interactive games, particle identity quiz and badges, tattoos, sidewalk chalk art and my little CERN passport. Please check the kids’ programme and the map for exact location.

Note that children (including infants) will need a valid CERN access card* to enter the site on the day of the event.

Indulge in a variety of world street food and drink at the many food tents across the CERN70 Community Village. From vegan and spicy options to more traditional favourites, there’s something for every palate:

Got a sweet tooth? Enjoy CERN’s birthday cake, made with the CERN70 Universe Chocolate Cake Recipe. Get the recipe!

Note that food and drink will be available at the event free of charge, in exchange for vouchers. You will need to collect these vouchers in the days leading up to the event. After completing your registration on Indico, you will receive a QR code that you can use to retrieve the vouchers. Vouchers’ distribution days and locations.
